This is so true!! A soccer ball that was washed away in last year’s japan Tsunami, has been found 5100km away in Alaska.
The man who found it, David Baxter, lives on the coast of Middleton Island. The ball was covered with japanese writings which his wife Yumi, who hails from Japan, was able to read.
According to The Japan Times, the ball belongs to Misaki Murakami, a 16-year-old high school student in Rikuzentakata, Iwate Prefecture, who lost his home in the disaster.
This ball had words of encouragement by his classmates to Misaki in March 2005 when he was moving to a new school. Misaki is overwhelmed by this find as he lost his home in the Tsunami.
The Baxters hope to return the ball personally to Murakami this summer when they take a vacation in Japan, The Japan Times reported.
