Sania-Bhupathi win first French Open title

Sania Bhupati win the mixed doubles.

Sania Mirza and Mahesh Bhupathi won their second Grand Slam title together and first French Open trophy after defeating Klaudia Jans-Ignacik and Santiago Gonzalez in the mixed doubles final, on Thursday.

Sania and Bhupathi had won the 2009 Australia Open and it is their first Grand Slam title since then. Sania had become first woman tennis player from India to win a Grand Slam with that Australian Open trophy.

It is the second career Grand Slam title for Sania while Bhupathi, now has won eight mixed doubles trophies.

Mixed doubles is played by two players each in the two teams with each team comprising one man and one woman.
