Who was Amelia Earhart?

Amelia Earhart was the most famous aviator in history. An aviator is someone who is actively involved in flying of an aircraft. Today marks Amelia Earhart’s 115th birth anniversary. She was the first woman aviator fly alone across the Atlantic Ocean.

Sadly, this celebrated woman disappeared 75 years ago while flying over the South Pacific on July 2, 1937, and was never found. She vanished without a trace. It has indeed been the greatest mysteries of the recent times.

Earlier this month, The International Group for Historic Aircraft Recovery opened a new search to find the wreckage of Earhart’s plane around remote island of Nikumaroro in the western Pacific Ocean. The mission is over now without any success. A $2.2 million expedition that hoped to find wreckage from famed aviator Amelia Earhart’s final flight is on its way back to Hawaii without any conclusive plane images.

Amelia Earhart was a young spirited woman who soared to the skies. Let us all remember today that “Sky is the limit”.
