Ace marksman Gagan Narang on Monday scooped the first medal for India at the London Olympic Games in the men’s 10m air rifle event here.
The gold was won by Romania’s Moldoveanu Alin George and the silver was won by world number 1 Niccolo Campriani of Italy who stood second.
This is also India’s eighth individual medal and third medal in shooting at the Olympic Games.
