honey-bee sucking on nectar

Blue Honey, Green Honey!

When you think of honey you usually think of  warm yellow sweet syrup.. Yummy!

But what if you opened a beehive and found blue or green honey? That is what happened with Beekeepers in northeastern France. Recently when they collected honey they were alarmed to find their bees producing honey in unnatural shades of green and blue.

The problem seems to have come from the fact that there is a bio gas plant that takes care of waste from a Mars Chocolate factory. It is thought the bees have been eating the sugary waste from M&Ms, small chocolates in brightly-coloured shells.

Although the bio-gas company has assured the beekeepers that they will do a clean up soon.

But the Beekeepers are sad because no one wants the blue honey.
