Indian Olympic Association (IOA) on Sunday announced that wrestler Sushil Kumar, a bronze medallist at the Beijing Games, will be the flag-bearer of the Indian contingent at the upcoming London Olympics.

Boxers Vijender Singh, Sushil and ace shooter Abhinav Singh Bindra were the names being considered to do the honors. All three of them had returned with medals from Olympics in Beijing in 2008.

It indeed must be a very proud moment for a boy born in a small village in Haryana to be our country’s flagbearer at the Olympics. Not many sportsmen get that chance!! You must be happy Mr. Boxer!!
