Many Many years ago there were people from Germany known as Franks. They crossed river Rhine and settled on an area known as “Gual” at that time. The Franks fought a lot of battles and won a lot of area that is now a part of France.  Eventually the kingdom of France extended from Rhine river to Atlantic ocean.

France is a republic today headed by a president. It is a very powerful nation. Around 50 million people live in France. French people are very famous for a leisurely life style. They love to take pleasure in the little things they do. They are really good cooks too. Different parts of the country have different cuisines and style of cooking.

Can you guess what else is France famous for? Nope it is not French Toast or French Fries :)  It is various kinds of cheese that the country boasts of.

France soil and climate are very good for growing grapes
