India successfully launched the first satellite of Indian Regional Navigational Satellite System yesterday. The system will constitute a total of seven satellites. India will have full control and access to this navigation system, the existing systems are in accessible in hostile situations.

By 2015, India aims to have the whole navigation system in space. It will then be able accurately position the aircrafts, ships, land vehicles and even hikers. US, Russia, China and European Union already have their navigation systems in space.

It is indeed a happy day for India.

We are sending so many satellites up in the space. While most of them are extremely helpful, have you ever thought that they might be cluttering our space.
