ISRO’s 100th mission launched successfully

ISRO’s 100th mission turned out to be a huge success when PSLV-C21 put into orbit France’s SPOT-6 and Japan’s PROITERES. France’s SPOT-6 was the primary satellite and biggest lift by PSLV till date while the other one was a small spacecraft – PROITERES built by Osaka Institute of Technology, Japan.

SPOT-6 is will now observe Earth, while PROITERES’s aim is to observe Kansai district of Japan through high-resolution camera.

The Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, who saw the launch sequence at the mission control centre at Satish Dhawan Space Centre here, about 110 km from Chennai, said that the mission was a“spectacular success.”  He also congratulated ISRO chief K. Radhakrishnan, Mission Director Kunhali Krishnan  and all the other people at ISRO involved in the mission.
