Someone once said, “The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a person’s determination.” This certainly holds true for Yuichiro Miura, an 80 year old Japanese man who successfully scaled Earth’s highest mountain – Mount Everest. He is the oldest man ever to climb the Everest.

So how did he do it?

Miura said it was his dream to climb the Everest at this age. He trained very hard for the preperation and never gave up. Even before this Miura has climbed Everest two times before – once in 2003 at age 70 and once in 2008 at age 75. His achievement has now been listed Guinness Book of Records.

Yuichiro Miura broke the record earlier held by Nepalese Bahadur Sherchan for scaling Everest in May of 2008 at the age of almost 77 years.
