Labor Day is being celebrated all across the United States today. It always falls on the first Monday of September every year.

Who thought of Labour day? How did it start?

All working men and women are called ‘Labor’. Labor day started on the suggestion of an American machinist named Matthew Maguire. It is celebrated to honour all of working men and women and their importance to society. In United States, the day also marks the end of summer.

Labor day is observed as a national holiday every year in around 80 countries but on a different date that is May 1st.
