Mama I am sick

Mama, I’m feeling sick

My experience says that kids have an uncanny knack of falling sick when you absolutely don’t want them to. For example when you are getting ready for that much awaited wedding, or for their own birthday party, or for the vacation you had planned after a long time.

I find the last one – the vacation – most tricky to deal with. And if it is a vacation abroad, and the child falls sick nothing can be more nerve wrecking – I guess it’s because we find ourselves in a new terrain, surrounded by unknown people and don’t have easy access to the doctor or the medicines that we have back home.

So, while travelling with a child you should always carry few medicines that can prove handy in “Mama, I’m feeling sick” situations.

Here is a list of what I anticipate can go wrong and one should always keep medicines for :

  • Fever
  • Vomiting
  • Loose stools
  • Stomach Ache
  • Allergic cold
  • Ear/Throat infection

And of course, not to forget, to keep good old Band-aids for those tiny cuts and scrapes :)

Happy Backpacking!!
