Margaret Thatcher, the first female Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, passed away on April 8 from a heart stroke. She was 87 years old.

Ms. Thatcher was one of the most influential politicians of her times. She was a confident leader. Even as a young child just nine years of age, when Margaret received a prize in school and when someone said she was lucky to receive it, she said “I wasn’t lucky. I deserved it.”

Margaret Thatcher always said that she was in politics because of the conflict between good and evil. She was a firm believer that in the end good will triumph the evil. She stayed prime minister of Britain for 11 years from 1979 to 1990. She was often known by the nickname, “the Iron Lady”, given to her by a Soviet journalist.
