Vice Admiral Devendra Kumar Joshi, the new Navy Chief

The Indian Armed forces of the of India consist of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Indian Coast Guard. 

Of these navy is our military force on water. They maintains security of our country from outside threats and attacks on water.


The Chief of the Navy is the highest-ranking officer of the Indian Navy.

Vice Admiral Devendra Kumar Joshi, was on Tuesday named as the new Navy Chief to succeed Admiral Nirmal Verma whose tenure ends on August 31 this year. He will have a three-year tenure.

The 58 year old Joshi is taking over the force at a time when it is all set to introduce a large number of warships, long range surveillance aircraft and submarines.
