It is decided after a long suspense and drama that Union Finance Minister Pranab Mukherejee will indeed be choice for the next president. He will be getting a large support from all the parties ensuring that he becomes the 13th president of India.

Pranab Mukherjee is currently also the leader of Lok Sabha. So when he moves on to become the President, these two posts will have to be reassigned to someone else.

“Government sources say Prime Minister Manmohan Singh might prefer to hold the Finance portfolio himself or give it to C. Rangarajan, his Economic Adviser, who was earlier Governor of the Reserve Bank of India.” The Hindu reported.
