Hill or a Huge Magnet?

A Magnetic Hill is that which appears to behave like a magnet. Imagine a magnet as big as a hill !! It is strong enough to pull cars up the hill or force passing aircraft to increase their height from ground in order to escape magnetic pull.

One such hill is located in our country in Ladakh, a region in the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

Scientists say that in reality, there is no magnet. It happens because the layout of the surrounding land is such, that their is a trick sensation. The image that we see in front of our eyes is different from  reality. Because of it, a very slight downhill slope appears to be an uphill slope. Thus, a car actually going downhill appears to be rolling uphill.

Magnetic hills are also known as Gravity hills or Mystery hills and they are found at many other places in the world like Australia, Brazil and China.
