How Bird Babies Learn to Fly?

Birds learn how to fly like how we learn to walk – a combination of instinct and practice.
Most birds cannot fly until their muscle structure is strong enough, as flying is a very tough exercise.Baby birds remain in the nest all the time in the beginning but as they grow bigger, they realise that they have to get away from the nest to survive.

So they start trying. In the beginning, there are frequent bad falls to the ground and then small hops back to the nest. But they dont give up!
After a few weeks of practice and copying their parents, young birds learn how to fully stretch out their wings, how to use the wind for lifting their body, how to float in the air and how to make controlled landings.

We have all heard that “Practice makes a man perfect” but I guess it is “Practice makes birds Perfect” too !! ;)
