The race to the presidential election last year was long and difficult. Although the results were declared earlier, the swearing in ceremony took place yesterday. Now Mr. Barack Obama can officially begin his second term as the President of the United States of America.
There was a private swearing in ceremony that was held on 20th January as the constitution requires. On 21st January, it was open for the public to see. The timing of the oath ceremony is really special as 21st January is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Day — and the 50th anniversary of Dr. King’s famous “I Have A Dream” speech. All the sacrifices Dr. King made during the civil rights movement in the 1950′s and 1960′s can be honored now as President Obama is the first black president of the United States.
