Mount Etna, Europe’s most a active volcano, ejected mile high red hot lava into the sky on Saturday. The lava came out of a new crater created on the south east face of the volcano.

Active volcanoes are likely to erupt at any time unlike dormant volcanoes that do not erupt for sometimes even hundreds of years. Mount Etna lies in Sicily, Italy and is largest one of Italy’s three active volcanoes. The next largest is Mount Vesuvius.

Thankfully, no one was reported to be hurt.
