An Australian gold explorer has discovered around 12 pounds(5.5kg) Y shaped chunk of gold, near the town of Ballarat in Victoria.The piece was buried 60 centimeters beneath the ground. He used a very advanced metal detector to make the find. His identity has been kept a secret due to safety reasons.
Ballarat, a city located on the Yarrowee River in the state of Victoria, Australia, was the centre for gold rush in 1850s. Thousands of people at that time had migrated to Ballarat to look for gold deposits.
