In an exciting quarterfinal between Spain and France, Spain played like world champions and  won by 2-0. This earned them a spot in Euro 2012 Championship semifinals.

Xabi Alonso scored both the goals for Spain. First goal was scored with a downward header in the 19th minute and the second one as a penalty  converted into a goal.

The win is Spain’s first over France in a competitive match in last seven face offs. Spain will next face Portugal on Wednesday in Donetsk in the semifinals as it aims to win a third straight major title.
