Karnataka to release cauvery water for Tamil Nadu

CRA orders Karnataka to Release Cauvery Water for TN

Cauvery River Authority, often known as CRA is chaired by the Prime Minister and includes Chief Ministers of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Kerala, and the Water Resources Minister.

On September 19, the CRA had directed Karnataka to release 9000 cusecs of water to Tamil Nadu daily between September 20 and October 15.

There have been various agitations held in Karnataka ever since then against the order. Several leaders of the state of Karnataka demanded for a review of the order but Prime Minister Manmohan Singh on Monday ruled out any possibility of a review.
