Have no fear Lesula is here !
This is the newest monkey species found in the deep forests of Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC).
Although this was nothing new for the locals as they have kept one of the species as a pet, the scientists are very excited at this discovery.
The new primate was first noticed by scientist and explorer, John Hart, in 2007. But it took 5 years to confirm that indeed it is a different species.
Did we forget about this monkey? What took so long? He looks different right? Is that not enough proof?
Apparently it is not. When we make new discoveries the scientists have to determine if the species is different in every possible way including it’s genetic code.
This gives up hope that there are still some more species that are yet to be discovered.
Let us discover!
