North Korea says it is planning to launch a rocket later this month to put a satellite into space. There was a similar launch in April 2012, but that rocket exploded shortly after taking off.

Many other countries like The US, Japan, South Korea are fearful that the launch is being used as cover for testing long range ballistic missiles.

Long range ballistic missile is a missile that can travel large distances. So, it can even travel from one continent to the other. The missile can sometimes even carry a bomb.
