Olympics Medal Tally – Day 9

On Day 9 at the London Olympics, China crawled back to no. 1 spot yet again by pushing US to no. 2. The greatest sprinter in history, Usain Bolt, won Olympic 100m race and retained his title. Andy Murray won an Olympic Gold in tennis and became the first British man to win it since Josiah Ritchie in 1908.

Star of the day – Natasha Jonas became the first female Briton to win an Olympic boxing match as the women’s event was played for the first time ever at the Games.

Shock of the day – A bottle was thrown on to the track seconds before the start of the men’s 100m final at the Olympic Stadium.The man responsible has been arrested.
