Indian government wants to ban the use of large number of plastic Indian flags used at national, cultural and sporting events.

Plastic is harmful to the environment as it takes years to degrade during which time harmful residues seep into the ground.
Instead goverment is suggesting the use of bio-degradable paper for making flags for these events.

Very environment friendly thought indeed!!
