Twenty20 India Beat Pakistan

T20: India Beat Pakistan In A Crucial Super Eight Match

What a Sunday cracker of a cricket match! India won over Pakistan in their first meet at the Twenty20 World Cup today in Colombo.

India-Pakistan World Cup matches are always a delight to watch at home, in shopping malls and in restaurants. This match was no exception, although fairly one sided with India dominating in all aspects – bowling, fielding and batting, and of course lady luck !

We heard one of the Pakistani teenagers say on the TV earlier today  – “I don’t care if Pakistan do not go win the Cup. This is like the final for us and we have to win today”.

A commanding bowling performance by R. Ashwin, Yuvraj Singh and L. Balaji of India followed by steady batting led by Virat Kohli saw India win the match. Pakistan batted first, scored 128 runs and were bowled out and sent back to the pavilion before the close of 20 overs. India scored 129 with a loss of 2 wickets, and with 3 overs to spare.

This bumps up India to the 3rd position in their group, giving them just a bit of edge over South Africa.
