Ukraine’s weather is causing chaos for the government and the public. Vehicles are trapped in thick snow. Freezing temperatures as low as minus 20 degrees Celsius have killed 37 people in Ukraine.
Ukraine is a country in eastern Europe. Each year it has fairly severe winters. January is usually the coldest month.
This year, as the temperature is dropping further, the authorities have set up shelters to keep people safe. Emergency workers are providing people with hot drinks and sandwiches.
