International Olympic Committee (IOC) has decided to drop wrestling from Olympics 2020 list of sporting events. The decision was taken based on the performance of all the other sports held at the last London Olympics, and to make way for more modern forms of sporting events (compared to wrestling which is more than 100 years old).

IOC meet will be held once again in September but there is a little chance that IOC will reconsider including wrestling. It is indeed a sad day for wrestlers and fans of the sport all around the world. Wrestling has been a part of  modern Olympics since 1896.

There are seven new sports that are looking forward to become an Olympic event. They are baseball, karate, roller skating, squash, sport climbing, wakeboarding and Kung fu.
