Blade Runner - Oscar Pistorious in Olympics

Blade Runner in Olympics 2012

South African double amputee sprint runner, Oscar Pistorius was included in South Africa’s team for the London 2012 Olympic Games. His inclusion bridges the gap between able and disabled Athletes.

His legs are made up of carbon-fiber blade which gives him no extra advantage over other runners. He also gets the name “Blade Runner” because of this.

“My goals are just to be able to look back at my career and know that I didn’t let my talent go to waste. I’m just trying to prove to myself that I can be the best that I want to be.”  said Oscar Pistorius to LEADERSHIP WEEKEND SPORTS.
