New Guinness World Record for Surfing Waves

New Guinness World record for wave surfing

An American Surfer, Garrett McNamara, who caught 78ft high wave off Portugal last year has been confirmed as a record breaker.

The experts at the Guinness World Records have reviewed the video of McNamara’s wild ride on a wave he caught in November at Nazaré, Portugal last year and have officially declared it the largest wave ever ridden — beating “a record set by Mike Parsons at Cortes Bank in southern California, in 2008″ whose record was a 77ft high wave“. The Time magazine reported.
