An Avalanche

Avalanche in Siachen

An avalanche is a large block of snow and ice rapidly sliding down a slope. While an avalanche is sliding down, it can trap or destruct anything that comes in its way.

On the morning of 7th  April, a massive avalanche hit Pakistan army camp in the Siachen Glacier. At least 135 Pakistani soldiers are feared trapped.
The Siachen Glacier is located in the Himalayas, very close to the Line of Control between India and Pakistan. It is the world’s highest battleground, where thousands of Pakistani and Indian soldiers do their duties in the harsh cold.
