India and China have two main disputed border areas – Aksai Chin and Arunachal Pradesh.
Both the countries from time to time have claimed their ownership on these areas. In 1962 China and India fought a brief war over Aksai Chin and Arunachal Pradesh. In 1993 the two countries signed agreements to respect the Line of Actual Control.
Recently, China represented Arunachal Pradesh and Aksai Chin as its territory in maps of the country on their new e-passport. India has reciprocated by issuing visas with Indian maps that show these disputed regions as part of India.
