28 year old Frenchwoman Marion Bartoli, defeated German Sabine Lisicki to win her first ever Wimbledon title on Saturday. Though Lisicki after defeating Serena Williams, had become crowds favorite she seemed very nervous in yesterdays game. Bartoli took full advantage, played well and defeated Lisicki 6-1,6-4.

Marion Bartoli started playing tournaments at the age of 16, but this is the first time she has won a Grand Slam Title. She has indeed done it in style and that too without dropping even a single set in the entire tournament!

Did you know that Bartoli now holds the record for a female player participating in the most Grand Slam tournaments before winning one? This was her 47th such tournament.
