New lakes in Himalayas

In Himalayas, Glaciers have been melting for 47 years. Do you know why the glaciers are melting? They are melting because of global warming. This has formed seven new lakes in the Chandra-Bagha Basin of western Himalayas.

Scientists from IIT, Bombay, showed that the glacier lakes have been undergoing continuous changes for the past 47 years. There has been an increase of 2591 sq.meters in the glacier-lake area.

Glaciers melting at this rate it is terribly awful as they are the fresh water sources.
