Olympics Medal Tally – Day 8

 

On Day 8 at the London Olympics, athletes participated in the very thrilling sport of Triathlon. Switzerland won the gold medal to make its entry into the medal tally table. US still remains at the top of the table with China coming a close second.

Star of the day – The four-time Paralympic champion, South Africa’s Oscar Pistorius, made history by becoming the first amputee sprinter to compete at the Olympics.

Shock of the day – Michael Phelps ends his much celebrated career after winning 18th  Olympic gold in 4x100m medley relay yesterday. He is the most successfull Olympian of all times with a total of 22 Olympic medals to his credit.
