Amazon has done something amazing. If you order something from amazon now, you can expect it in 30 minutes. Wow! Not even pizza gets delivered that fast. Chief Executive Jeff Bezos announced that Amazon has tested unmanned drones to deliver packaged goods to customers.

What are drones? A drone is an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) which is actually an aircraft without a human pilot onboard. Its flight is controlled  by computers inside the drone or via the remote control.

Amazon claims that almost 86% of their deliveries are upto 5 pounds. That is how much the drone could carry in a test flight. This drone will be called an Octocopter. This service will be called Prime Air and will be fully functional in five years if it gets approval from the US Federal Aviation Administration.

Amazon is hoping that this fast delivery is going to increase their sales.

The US government has given permission for police drones and weather drones. Drones for civilians are yet to be allowed.

The future is here!
