Killer whales, also called “orcas,” are the largest of the dolphins. Eleven killer whales have been trapped inside a frozen stretch in Hudson Bay. Usually, the whales are not supposed to be in these waters in January.
Villagers from Inukjuak, a fishing village in Quebec, spotted them on Tuesday and said that the panicked whales are breathing through a hole in the ice. The hole might shrink as the ice freezes further. They have asked Canadian government to take an action as soon as possible to free the whales.
