Indian-American Nasa astronaut Sunita Williams recently completed her seventh spacewalk. Any time an astronaut gets out of a vehicle while in space, it is called a spacewalk. A spacewalk is also called an EVA meaning extravehicular activity.
She ventured out along with Japanese astronaut Akihiko Hoshide for about six hours to fix an ammonia leak in the International Space Station’s cooling system.
Sunita already holds the record for a female astronaut spacewalking. It is over 44 hours during six previous excursions. It was third spacewalk for Akihiko Hoshide.

The first person to go on a spacewalk was Alexei Leonov. He was from Russia. The first spacewalk was on March 18, 1965. It was 10 minutes long.
