The most amazing thing that happened in 2012 was that the world did not end. Our beautiful planet Earth still exists. If there is one thing that we have learnt from the Mayans it is that if you don’t finish anything that is not the end of the world. Ha!

Year 2012 saw some startling discoveries of  new animals on our planet. A new monkey species  found in the deep forests of  Democratic Republic of the Congo, an eyeless hunts man spider and that the spade-toothed whale exists !!

However, sadly, Lonesome George, last remaining tortoise of his kind and a conservation icon died in the Galapagos National Park.

Also, many researches suggested that our planet might look totally different in few million years. The chopping of Rainforests is disturbing the balance of the ecosystem and global warming is causing the Arctic Ice to disappear.

Hopefully we will work more on saving our planet in 2013 and our Earth will always be beautiful.
