Google Art Project (GAP)

This is so interesting!! Google Art Project(GAP) has made it possible to have a look at the world’s best art galleries and museums online inside the comfort of your home.

GAP, which launched last year, digitized artworks from 17 museums in the first phase. It’s  latest inclusion on the online tour map are Indian art and antiquities exhibited at the National Gallery of Modern Art(NGMA) and the National Museum. While NGMA has artworks from famous Indian  artist like Raja Ravi Varma and many more, The National Museum has  allowed access to treasures like Tipu Sultan’s sword and the terracotta figurine of the Mother Goddess.

Also, this Online navigation is aimed to be similar to the experience of actually strolling through the museum.
